Reason for works: T1 - Birch: The tree has outgrown the available space within the garden and is producing shoots in the adjacent pavement. T3 - Apple: The tree has outgrown its position within the garden, creating excessive shade and limiting light to the surrounding area.16 Princes Square Exeter EX2 9ANReceived 10 Oct 2026Trees26/1515/CAT1.63 km from centreExeter council
- PendingTo Crown lift two trees to improve clear lines of sight and prohibit anti-social behaviour. T1 - a holly tree. The branches of the tree currently reach to the ground and provide a dense canopy. The crown lifting of this tree's lower branches to 2-2.5 meters will reduce the potential for antisocial behaviour, improve the ground flora, and strengthen the health of the tree. T2 - a yew tree. The lower branches of this tree provide clover for anti-social behaviour without clear lines of sight, to crown lift this tree to 2-2.m meters will improve lines of sight, improve ground flora and improve the health of the tree by reducing the temptation to climb onto the lower branches.St Davids Church Queens Terrace Exeter EX4 4HRReceived 10 Oct 2026Trees26/1517/CAT1.35 km from centreExeter council
- PendingT1-is a multi stem Bay tree, one stem stops you closing the gate so this is to be removed & the height of other stems to be reduced to the height of the lower windows to stop it interfering with the BT lines & pole . Reduce height from 4metres down to 2 metres. T2-is a large conifer which is full of wisteria and is too close to the property& utilities. This will possibly affect household insurance, it also causes the front rooms to be in darkness. The plan is to remove this tree as a reducing it sympathetically will be impossible. T3-cordylines,these are reaching the height of the property & will soon be interfering with the BT lines above, the aim is to bring these down by half in the spring when chance of late frost is passed. The two Ash trees have been subjected to significant pruning on the field side due to a new infrastructure installation. The trees are now side weighted over the highway and also exhibit signs of decline, potentially due to Ash Dieback Disease. - PendingT1 - Silver Birch: - Lowest North West primary branch growing towards No.13: Shorten back by 1.5 metres. Diameter cut size of 2-3inches. Reasons: To increase the light in this area, without affecting the vigour of the tree. - 2 specified vertical North East leading stems (photo provided): Shorten back by 3 metres (3-4 inch diameter cut size). The areas to be pruned are the both overhanging the road, and zebra crossing. Reasons: The two areas observed have higher lever arms than other areas of the crown. Movement of the stems in light winds indicate a requirement for reducing the weight and sail effect. They overhang the road and zebra crossing, and so there is a higher risk to the public.11 St Andrews Road Exeter EX4 2AAReceived 29 Sept 2026Trees26/1458/TPO1.14 km from centreExeter council

- PendingThere are 2 mature oak trees in the garden property of 8 Cheltenham close EX4 2EL, both of these trees back onto exwick lane, the customer is worried about the trees failing and being within falling distance of his property, they both have large Ganoderma brackets at the bottom and significant damage to the stem from previous storms and havent fully recovered. The customer would like to reduce the stem in height and complete a pollard, with bringing the height down to take it out of falling distance and still maintaining the tree without losing privacy. On the Exeter city council map its displayed in the small square of a conservation area. I wish to undertake English pollarding of the two oak trees identified as T1 and T2, reducing them to a pollard framework at an approximate height of 15 feet (4.6 metres). The proposed works are intended to establish and maintain a pollard form, with all works carried out by a competent tree surgeon in accordance with good arboricultural practice and with due consideration for the trees health, long-term management and the surrounding conservation area. The trees are suffering from large Ganoderma brackets and the customer has been made aware of the health of the tree but still wishes to attempt to retain the trees.8 Cheltenham Close Exeter EX4 2ELReceived 27 Sept 2026Trees26/1449/TPO0.51 km from centreExeter council

- PendingSection 211 notice: proposed works to trees in a conservation area Please accept this as notice under section 211 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 of the following proposed works to two trees at the above address. T1 and T2 are identified on the attached site plan. T1 - mature lime Proposed work: Dismantle to ground level. Ganoderma fruiting bodies have been observed around all sides of the base. On sounding, the lower stem produced a hollow response up to approximately 2.5 metres above ground level. The tree stands adjacent to a frequently used driveway that is also used by third parties. These observations and the exposure of driveway users are the reasons for the proposed removal. T2 - mature beech Proposed work: Reduce to standing deadwood as a habitat monolith approximately 8 metres high, removing the crown and lateral branches. Significant fungal fruiting bodies, identified as Meripilus giganteus, have been observed around the base. This beech shares a rooting system with a companion beech that has previously failed. Potential targets include telephone wires, a driveway and a frequently used garden. The highway may also be within the trees fall zone, depending on the direction of failure. The proposed work would remove the crown while retaining standing deadwood for habitat. The condition of the base and root system, and the stability of the proposed 8 metre retained stem, will be assessed before work proceeds. Please acknowledge receipt, confirm whether either tree is already subject to a Tree Preservation Order, and advise whether the council wishes to inspect them. Given the occupied targets and observed defects, we would welcome an early written response if the council does not intend to make a TPO.Hamlyns House St Andrews Road Exeter EX4 2AFReceived 24 Sept 2026Trees26/1443/CAT1.27 km from centreExeter council

- ApprovedSee images. The English Yew trees have become an issue. Their appearance of being planted closely together indicates they may have originally been intended as a hedge. The trees have been maintained regularly but the cutting back of them has been subject to restrictions, so they have grown very tall and wide over time. This application is to obtain permission to return them back to a hedge height and width. The issues are as follows: - they are situated very close to and overhang an electrical sub-station - phones lines are threaded through them, so this and the above point may cause risks to infrastructure - the amount of material falling from the trees blocks the property's gutters and drains on a regular basis - the debris from the trees covers the public side road, property driveway and path to the front door which, when wet, can be slippery and of concern for the safety of the occupants, especially an elderly resident, plus occupants of next door and visitors to both properties. We are proposing the Yew Trees are cut to a height of 4m and 2 metres wide. This allows for clearance under the phone cables and room for growth, remove the overhang from the electrical substation, and 50cm on the road side to align with the road edge.3A St Loyes Road Exeter EX2 5HAReceived 15 Sept 2026Decided 13 Oct 2026Trees26/1400/CAT4.31 km from centreExeter council
- PendingTree T20; This tree has 2 low branches which are growing at a curved angle and my tree surgeon expressed concerns that this could lead to instability of the branches as time goes on. The branches are also very heavy, blocking a street lamp and growing over a path which leads from houses to the garages/ parking area. Take branches back approx 6-10 metres (depending on branch) to allow the street lamp to illuminate the pathway for residents. This is the access path from their houses to their garages and is in frequent use. In addition these are potential 'hazard beams' (and can become unstable) due to the angle of growth. Trees T13-18; Are growing over a major public footpath (the trees are on Wellingtonia Park Management Company land), the path is a walkway used by many members of the public, school children and NHS Staff in particular T14 (tree on the left) Take branches overhanging path back 3-6 metres (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence line T15 (on the left) Take branches overhanging path back 3-6 metres approx (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence line T16 (on the left) Take small tree back approx 3-6 metres (depending on branch), to behind the 'lower' fence lineStreet Record Lister Close ExeterReceived 15 Sept 2026Trees26/1402/TPO3.33 km from centreExeter council
